Happy New Year ‼️🎈🎆
Warren Buffet famously said to be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when they are fearful.
The last few years of expansion have been filled with greed as large bubbles were formed in all asset classes from stocks, real estate and cryptocurrencies. During this time, anyone could have made good money. I doubled my investment in Tesla, and it didn’t take much genius.
However, anyone paying attention to the trends could see that things would be changing. The bill wise investor would have become more fearful, sell at inflated prices and wait for things to make more sense. Others would call this investor “fearful.”
But what has happened this year? Inflation has finally caught up to us, rising rates are slowing the housing market and spending, companies have a demand problem and unemployment is rising. The S&P500 is down 20% from the beginning of the year and home sales have slowed while prices have come down. Folks are getting fearful. Now, what would the wise investor do in this situation?
He or she becomes greedy. The wise recognizes that prices are falling more in line with their values and takes advantage of these discounts, both in stocks and real estate and anywhere else.
2023 is expected to be a year in recession, but I would argue that we have already been in a recession. Now that the public unanimously agrees that things have changed, we can call it a recession. But it doesn’t have to be a recession for you. Here are three things you can do as a wise steward and investor in 2023:
1️⃣ Save as much money as possible.
2️⃣ Manage income and expenses.
3️⃣ Buy assets at great prices.
We talked about the last tip, and the first two are prerequisites. Manage your finances well so that you will be in a position to take advantage of one of the possible best investment seasons you can ever have.
I hope that you and your family have a blessed 2023!
